On Saturday 28th April, Sutton Village Church hosted a climbing wall that was funded through the community group Sutton Smile.
What is now becoming a regular event was blessed with dry weather.
The wall (a dizzy 26 feet high) arrived late morning was very quickly put into position for the first eager climbers to ascend and press the buzzer at the top.
The wall was open to all ages and Glenys, one of our volunteers was eager to have a go.
Whilst not scaling the wall, families were able to enjoy the hospitality inside the church. They enjoyed hot and cold drinks and had time to chat in a relaxed environment.
Of course there was a tuck shop for the children to get their sugar levels up before attempting the wall.
During the afternoon over 100 people had a go at reaching the top with varying degrees of success.
All of the children had a fantastic time and we look forward to staging this and many more events in in the future with Sutton Smile.
