Family Weekend 2009

Family Weekend 2009This year, again, a crowd of us went to St. Winifreds at Rhos-on-Sea for our Annual Family Weekend. Our speaker for the weekend was Sheila Heron and her theme was taken from John 14:6: I am the way and the truth and the life and how it affects all our lives. She spoke on four separate occasions and her knowledge and how she explained her topic was exceptional.

It was a weekend of caring, sharing, teaching, fun and laughter and everyone joined in just like one big family. The Praise Group led us in prayer and worship with old songs, new songs and favourite songs. We had a wonderful time of worship on several occasions.

Saturday afternoon was free to do what you wanted and we all did different things. Some went on the beach ‘crabbing’, (but they put them all back!) whilst others went shopping. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, no rain, and it was lovely walking along the sea front.

Saturday night was games night when we were entertained by the ‘Young’ people and Lee!! They were extremely good, what a talented church we have.

Family Weekend 2009Thank you to Sheila and Carl, for giving their time up to be with us and for everyone involved in making the weekend so enjoyable, especially Lisa, who skillfully organized it all, Thank you to ‘The Praise Group’ who have practiced for hours learning the new songs and arranging times for breaks etc. We also thank Nic and Dave for providing us with the songs on the overhead. All as we had to do was to sit there and enjoy, and Oh boy! We did.
