An annual tradition within our church is to head away from Sutton for one afternoon every summer. For details of this year’s event click here.
We head to the Cheshire countryside to a place called High Legh. There we have access to the Northwood Christian Centre, which provides a great base for the afternoon, with/ its safe, secure field and indoor facilities (in case it rains!).
About the afternoon
We arrive from 11am and kick off our time together by enjoying our own picnics. The afternoon is then free to do whatever you want. Some of us head on to the field to play rounders or football, some head out on a country walk, some simply sit and have a brew.
Jesus loved spending time with people, enjoying their company and sharing food. If it’s good enough for him, we think it’s good enough for us too! It’s important to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life now and then, and our Church Picnic gives us this opportunity.
