Thirst (Walking In The Holy Spirit)

Our May 2025 Thirst session looked at why it is so important to walk in the Holy Spirit and we considered seven checks we can carry out to see how we are doing!

We started the session by looking at some useful background questions.

First question: What is ‘walking’ in the Holy Spirit? It’s symbolic of our spiritual progress and who we’re walking with.

We applied the process of physical walking to walking in the Holy Spirit.
Make a conscious decision – we’ve got to recognise we have to do something?
Get up – have to think about what are we standing for?
Put one foot in front of each other – have to have faith that He who started good work in us is going to hold us up.
Put next foot forward. Still trusting
Keep your eyes fixed on where you are going – keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Second question: Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God. Evidenced in Gen 1:2, 2 Sam 23:2-3, Acts 5:3-4.
The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity.
The Holy Spirit is a person. Referred to as ‘He’. He helps us to understand God.

We then looked at seven ways of checking how we are doing in our walk and considered a series of self-examination questions. You can follow the PowerPoint below.
