Romans is one of the most famous, quoted, and dearly loved books in the whole Bible. This may be because it contains some of the clearest and strong statements of the Gospel we have in Scripture.
Over the next couple of Thirst sessions we are going to explore the book that Paul wrote 2000 years ago, apply it to our lives in 2026 and ask What Has Romans Ever Done For Us?

Romans 1:1-17
In this passage, Paul introduces himself and explains that God’s Kingdom, promised to Israel’s King David, has arrived in Jesus. As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In Romans 1:1-17 we see that in Jesus’ victory over death, a new global King has been crowned, and all people can join his eternal Kingdom by faith.
Romans 1:18-32
In this passage, Paul explains that humanity has wilfully rejected their Creator and, in response, God has handed humans over to self-destruction and death. As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In Romans 1:18-32 we see that although humanity has rejected God, faith in Jesus can rescue us from the death we’ve chosen.
Romans 2:1-3:26
In this passage, Paul explains that neither Jews nor Gentiles can claim good standing with God through their own merit or religious practices. As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In Romans 2:1-3:26 we see that Jesus’ death was an atoning sacrifice that gives all people good standing with their Creator.
Romans 3:27-4:25
In this passage, Paul shows that Abraham received good standing with God through faith, not works, and this same path is open to all people. As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In Romans 3:27-4:25 we see that just as Abraham believed God could bring life from death, we receive salvation by believing in Jesus’ resurrection.
