Family Weekend 2025

Seven billion people occupy this tiny slice of history. And it’s not by accident. God chose our generation to make a difference – but He doesn’t want us to do it alone. At Family Weekend 2025 we introduced four core values that we pray will inspire our church in the areas of faith, serving, generosity, and evangelism.

In our first session we looked at how, as our personal faith grows, our faith as a church will grow and will take us further along the journey God has planned for us. Let’s not underestimate the power of God and His ability to get things done.

In session two, we reminded ourselves of the importance of giving back to God some of the financial blessing that he has given us. But, the main thrust of the session was to brainstorm ideas of how we could use that money to good in Sutton. Hopefully, you will see the fruits of our discussions over the coming months and years.

In session three, we heard how in order for our church to have the greatest impact for God in Sutton, we need to appreciate that church isn’t just a building… more importantly it’s the people who God has placed there, and He’s given each of us a specific role within that community of Christ followers. Are you willing to play your part?

In our final session of the weekend, we focussed on the importance of telling people the Good News. How we don’t just want to help people meet with Jesus; we have to. We reflected how, in order to do that, we might have to bear some burdens, and we might have to do things no one else is doing, or has done before.

Once we go through the doors we can’t do any more
We should be more like the beavers!
